I missed updating this, so recap: I'm back from Singapore, had a fabulous time! I posted some pictures of it, so you can get a general idea. And my fears of sucking at the classwork were unfounded because I got an "A" in my Pan-Asian cuisine course!
I got back from St. Augustine last Sunday, and spent this week being lazy and super busy, in shifts. I got a lot of the stuff I need for school, but now the issue is PACKING everything I bought/had in the basement. My idea for next year is if I can't get a job to take summer classes (get to that in a minute), I'm going to put it all in storage up in RI so there's none of this transporting nonsense, and then when I find an apartment in MA, everything is right there for me.
I know I wanted to go to Tuscany this year, and I'm still going to apply, but with the way course scheduling is going it might be difficult to graduate on time. I'm already taking classes but I seem to have underestimated the magnitude of the task I'm trying to undertake. So my new plan is push Tuscany to 2010, and take a couple of summer academics next year. And if I can get a job on campus (I don't think it's hard), I won't have to give up my apartment, I don't think. There's so many details to iron out, it's irritating. I also need to talk to my counselor about taking transfer courses at The New School in NYC, because they offer online classes in Food Studies, and I don't see any reason why I can't apply those towards my Bachelor's and lighten the in-school workload?
I also got a new 7 inch palmtop computer, but it uses Linux so I have to get used to a new OS. Mainly for classnotes and stuff so I don't ruin my Macbook again.
I'm kind of irritated. I have two weeks before I get to go back and I'm both excited and shit-scared. I've also been dealing with personal things, like Mommy's transfusions, my own mental state, etc.
I have a new "significant" other, and I have a new tattoo, and no the two are not related. My tattoo is a brilliantly colored phoenix with a fiery tail, sweeping up the side of my calf. I'd wanted it for a while so I buckled down to do it. It was expensive and painful (2 hours!) but it was so worth it.

I started another vignette/poetry piece that I was inspired by in St. Augustine, so we'll see how that turns out.
Ready? Steady, go.
